As a change from running a Treasure Hunt - here is a great party game for adults or grown-ups. Follow the links for other party games to entertain your guests - whatever their age:
Balloon & Hoop
Divide your players into two equal teams. If you have equal numbers of men and women, then it can be an ideal game for the women to take on the men.
Provide a toy hoop and two inflated balloons. The balloons should be of different colours. The hoop needs to be rigged horizontally about three feet off the ground. If you are unable to secure it in some way (perhaps tied to the back of two chairs) then one person can hold the hoop, or the players can take it in turns to hold it. The hoop should be at one end of the room, and the players at the other. Mark off a starting point behind which one player from each team can stand.
Number the players in each team, then number 1s plays against each other, then number 2s etc. The two players wait for the command to start, then have to throw their balloon vertically in the air. Thereafter they must knock the balloon with one hand only towards the hoop and through the hoop from above.
If the balloon touches the ground, or the payer touches the other player’s balloon with any part of his body, then the player is out. A player scores one point for his team if he is the first of his pair to successfully knock the balloon through the hoop.
Once the first pair has concluded their race, the second pair starts and so on. The side with the most points scored is the winner.
It is a good idea to have some spare balloons available in case one bursts. If possible keep the team colours the same.
