Noah’s Ark

Prepare a card for each guest. The cards are blank, except that in the top left hand corner is written the name of an animal. Each animal features on two cards, place each card in a separate pile. Thus you will have two piles of cards each featuring the same set of animals.

Divide your party guests into two groups, probably women and men and give a pile of cards to each group. Then pass out the cards to each member of the group.

At your signal, the guests have to find their corresponding pair.

When an animal pair has been found, the couple must work together to compose two telegrams (or short messages), the words of which must commence with the letters comprising the animal’s name in their correct order. The woman’s telegram should be addressed to the man, and the man’s telegram be addressed to the woman in reply.

Ten minutes are allowed for the effort, then the cards are initialled and handed in (as a pair). The hostess will read each pair of telegrams and the guests vote on the winner.
