As a change from running a Treasure Hunt - here is a great childrens game. Follow the links for other party games to entertain your kids:

Flour Pie

Take a pudding basin and fill it with flour. Pack the flour down and fill the basin level.

Turn the basin over onto a tray and carefully remove the basin, to leave the flour pie.

Place a small coin on the top of the flour pie.

The first player must slice off a part of the pie with a palette knife. The knife is passed to the next competitor who must also take off a slice. This continues until the coin falls from the top of the pie.

The person who causes the coin to fall should pay a forfeit. A good one, is that they must pick up the coin in their teeth. Of course this will leave them with a flour covered face!
